Field Integration Technician

Location: Des Moines, IA / Omaha, NE / St. Paul, MN

Job Description: This role includes the installation, integration & optimization of telecommunications network hardware and interconnect facilities. The position works independently with minimal supervision and provides instruction, assistance, and guidance to other technicians as required. Being able to travel and work independently is required because much of the work will take place at remote communication sites. Due to the territory size for this market, successful applicants will likely be working (10) hour days.

Essential functions include:

  • Installation, commissioning, integration & testing for Ericsson and Nokia (GSM, UMTS, LTE technology and 5G)) RBS, DAS, 911 location systems.
  • Installation and testing of transport facilities T1, T3, FTT,
  • Installation and Integration of router/SIAD based equipment (Tellabs, Cisco, and ALU).
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and other technical specifications.
  • Familiar with OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Must maintain and enforce Company’s safety program, ensure daily job site safety plans are reviewed and followed, and stop work when unsafe work practices or conditions exist.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • 1-2 years of related experience is required.
  • Technician/Technologist diploma is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Office Suite
  • Majority of work will be during normal business hours; however, applicant must be willing to work off normal shifts if needed
  • Overnight travel required as needed.
  • Capable of working both indoors and outdoors for up to 10 hours.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Able to climb ladders,  lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs.  Able to crouch, kneel and twist throughout the workday.  Able to use basic hand tools, manipulate equipment and instruments with precise hand and finger movements.

 Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly / Exempt Position $28-$36/hour, based on experience.

    • Paid Time Off (Accrued during each year) – 11 Days
    • Paid Maternity Leave- 15 days paid (Up to 9 weeks unpaid if desired)
